Rebels member owns hidden lab, say
SA police
A man who South Australian police say is a member of the Rebels motorcycle
club is facing serious drug charges after the discovery of a clandestine
lab in Adelaide's north.
Detectives from Operation Avatar raided the house in Modbury North
overnight and allegedly discovered a drug lab and drug making equipment
throughout the property.
A 37-year-old Kangaroo Island man and the home's 33-year-old owner
are facing drug manufacturing charges.
The home owner is allegedly a member of the Rebels motorcycle club.
Detective Inspector Damian Powell says equipment allegedly used to
make methamphetamines and other drugs, along with cannabis plants
and a gun have been seized.
"I guess the thing that sets this one apart is that it's clear
that this is an ongoing commercial enterprise and at a level that
is significantly higher than a lot of other labs that we've located,"
he said.
Police will spend most of today dismantling the lab.
